Enchanted Romance

My Story about meeting Claire Pettibone:
So last week I went to the Otis Jury Show to be a judge. While there I was able to view the students work and see the mentor directions they were given (This is because I am fashion Design Alum now). One particular collection I was more than excited to see was the Claire Pettibone mentorship collection. Let me just tell you I LOVED the entire collection!
While there one of the senior teachers over heard me saying I wished I had her as a mentor (last year) when I was in school because I’ve always wanted to be a bridal designer. (But what teacher of mine didn’t know that? tehehe) She said, “Have you met her?” “Go introduce yourself!” I said “but what do I say?” For once in my life I was speechless and was at a loss for words (which never happens). Then I Told the teacher that I had sent my résumé to her already and had not heard anything (I don’t want to look like a creeper). The teacher replied, “then introduce yourself and tell her you’re the one that sent in your résumé.” So I walked over to Claire. It seemed like one of those moments when you see the door in a movie and the hallway to the door seems to get longer and longer. With my legs wobbly and sweating like there was no tomorrow from being so nervous, I went up to Claire and introduced myself. I spoke to her for a short while. Not long because I was so nervous I didn’t know what to say.
Now let me back track a little bit. You see I had been looking up to Claire as an inspiration when I kept pinning her wedding gowns on my pinterest boards. So I went to her bio page (I like to see where designers started) and saw she graduated from Otis. I also remembered her dress was worn by Pricilla Chan (Wife to the facebook mogul). I remember being so excited to see an alum doing bridal. It gave me so much hope that one day I could also be a bridal designer. Since it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to be since I was 16 – 17ish.
So back to introducing myself so I didn’t do a good job because I was a huge dork. Remember this is someone I’ve looked up to. I felt like I was a little six year old again looking up to this person that is everything I’ve ever wanted to be. So after a quick exchange of talking I went back over to the senior teacher and was like OH MY GOSH I WAS SOO NERVOUS! I think I had sweat off all my deodorant tehehehe. So in honor of meeting Claire and being nervous (and be a complete dork) I thought I would post a few of my favorite wedding gowns of hers on my blog. Trust me I would put them all up if I could. What do you think of her AMAZING wedding gowns? Which one is your favorite?
