Summer Time Dreams

Living in California is wonderful we always have great weather and don’t even get me started about the beaches. I could live at the beach if you let me. Under an umbrella though because I burn pretty easy and I haven’t mastered the red lobster look haha. It’s just not attractive and it hurts.

Lately though the weather in California has been so hot I honestly think i’m going to melt into the ground at times. So, I have been hitting the pool a lot more and might consider becoming a mermaid soon.

With that it inspired me for this post. So, here are some of my summer essentials that are a must this summer to survive the heat and enjoy the magic only summer brings. That are just perfect for beach days with your girls, your honeymoon, or just because. Oh yes and some of my favorite swimsuits that honestly have me wishing I really was a mermaid. Enjoy and thank you for stopping by and reading.beach7Beach1beach5 Continue Reading

Glamorous Illustrations

I was asked a little while ago to do some commission work for my sister in law. My brother and her recently just bought a home here in sunny California. Now as they get settled in she has been decorating the house. Knowing that I love to illustrate fashion she asked if I could do four illustrations for her. She wanted to put them in her dinning room which is connected to the family/ front room.

So, I thought to myself hmmmm what to do? At first she wanted my illustrations from my portfolio but I kind of need those haha. So, I told her I would create new fashion illustrations for her. She was more than excited for that idea. Lucky for me she trusted me and gave me the freedom I wanted to do whatever I wanted. Kind of dangerous I know! One of the toughest parts of starting a new project is coming up with the idea. I always find everything after that a piece of cake. As I thought about this new commissioned project I thought about what theme and what kind of story I wanted to to tell. I finally decided I wanted these fashion illustrations to be glamorous and with a strong sense of femininity. Usually how all women want to feel and look (glamorous). Then I decided I wanted to stick with deep jewel tones because I wanted confident glamorous women. Any woman that is going for glamorous lets face it is in reality a very confidant and comfortable in her skin type of woman.

This project was a little different than my previous too. I played with glitter and rhinestones in combination with my usual illustration media’s of copic and primsa pencils. And let me just say I loved using mixed media.  So here is how the illustrations turned out. I’ll post a picture of them framed and on the wall when they are done with both. I hope you like them and thanks for stopping by!

Fishtail Braid

Happy Thursday! Okay so, I just have to admit this summer has been a blast. I have been having way too much fun hanging out with friends. One thing though that I have been totally obsessing over though is my hair! While I love ponytails because they are easy. I wanted to try something different this year. I can’t remember but somehow I stumbled onto fish tail braiding and ever since I’ve been hooked. I can’t even tell you or begin to tell you how crazy I’ve been with fish tail braiding hair. It’s like when you learn something new or buy something new that’s all you want to do or use. I’ve even tried fish tail braiding my nieces hair but her hair is still to fine and short (she’s almost 2). Shockingly I never knew how because I grew up with only brothers and was the only girl.

My summer go to look this year was the messy side fishtail braid with my hair let out around my face on both sides to frame it. For some reason I feel like this is a very easy look to achieve and goes well with the summer heat if your at the beach because your hair is out of your face. I’m in California and well it tends to get very warm here and I find myself at the beach more often than not. However, it is also a great date night look that still transitions easily for a pretty effortless date or going out hair style.

So, here are some fish tale hairstyles to help inspire you. These are just a few of my favorite looks. I picked three that are great for casual settings and 3 for more of formal occasion for a wedding, bride, or just for a dressy going out look. Here is a link of how to do a fish tail braid if you don’t know how to (click here). Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my picks.

More Exciting News With Zazzle

So, while away in my absence I have been working on lots of different projects. On top of redesigning and relaunching my new site. I have been busy illustrating to get my works up on Zazzle for people to purchase. At times it felt like it would never all come together because I was being pulled in so many directions. Then magically as I kept working things came together and worked out. So, I hope that my dear readers that are reading this remember to just keep working hard on what you love. Eventually things will happen. Something I myself tend to forget only sometimes…. okay a lot (wink).

Right now my Zazzle store is a little small but it will continue to grow as I put more things there. I already have something that will be added soon that I worked on this weekend. So, make sure you stop by and check out some of my work. I’m like super excited between my Zazzle going up and my website too. I feel like one lucky girl that just won the lotto life couldn’t get any better.

Here is some of the things you can purchase in my Zazzle store.  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and read my posts it means the world to me.

New Site Is Finally Here!

Happy Monday everyone! I cannot believe how long it has been since the last post. I even spent an hour trying to figure out how to get back into my account. I think I have one of the worse memories ever haha. Oh yes if there are few glitches in the next few days it’s because I’m still trying to figure out how everything works still too. Moving forward I promise to post more.

Let me just say redesigning a site is a lot of work. More than I thought it would be but so worth it. I’m REALLY excited to announce and show you the redesigned website. So, much love an thought has gone into it. I think I might have drove my web design guy a little nuts with the back and forth haha. In the end it all worked out and he turned out to be super patient with me. He allowed me the creative freedom I needed to bring this new site to you (pretty sure he won’t be working with another designer again haha jk 😉 ). Thanks William you rock!

If your ever in the market for a web designer you should totally look him up! (WK Consulting)

Here are just a few behind the scenes of the process that made my site become a reality. P.S. keep your eyes open for a giveaway happening soon in celebration of the new relaunch wink wink wink. I hope you enjoy these pictures. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Monday! Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 10.19.35 PMScreen Shot 2014-07-06 at 10.17.18 PM
